Description

The Ganga Aarti at Har-Ki-Pauri in Haridwar is a truly serene and spiritual experience. This daily obeisance, performed along various banks of the sacred Ganges River in northern India, draws pilgrims, tourists, and local priests as dusk settles. Reverently referred to as ‘Ganga-ji,’ the river is worshipped with floating lamps and flowers offered amidst the melodic chants of mantras and the ringing of bells. Words fall short in capturing the profound energy of the moment, but this photograph, taken handheld in very low light, is my humble attempt to bring the experience to life.
